Ermita de Sant Roc de Ternils
Thirteenth-century Gothic chapel, the oldest surviving building in Carcaixent and the former church of the vanished hamlet of Ternils. It keeps a rectangular nave with four pointed arches and a decorated wooden roof. It was declared a National Artistic Monument and its restoration began in 1980.
The chapel is the oldest building in the municipality, dating from the thirteenth century, and it was the first Christian parish of the Huerta de Carcaixent. It keeps a rectangular nave with four pointed arches and a decorated wooden roof. It is declared a National Artistic Monument, and its restoration began in 1980. The temple belonged to the now vanished hamlet of Ternils, of which the chapel is the main surviving trace. The declaration as a National Artistic Monument recognises that historical value, and the site remains one of the oldest pieces of religious architecture in the municipality.
