In the centre of Carcagente, the church of the Asunción began in 1434 as a Gothic church and was thoroughly remodelled from 1625. Its multicolour tiled dome shows from halfway across the farmland.
History
The primitive 1434 parish grew too small as the town expanded, and from 1625 it was enlarged and dressed in Baroque style. The resulting church holds eleven chapels and a pictorial programme with Segrelles paintings.

The multicolour glazed-tile dome, the eleven side chapels and the Segrelles paintings. The Ternils hermitage, from the 13th century, is the other church to see in the district.
