What to see in Carcaixent
Carcagente, about 39 km from València, grew rich on oranges and keeps a rare modernista industrial architecture in the Ribera. With some 21,900 residents (2025), its visit moves between churches and citrus-trade buildings.
The religious side joins the 13th-century Ternils hermitage, the oldest in the district and a national monument, with the 1434 Asunción, of multicolour dome, eleven chapels and Segrelles. The civic side joins the basilica-type 1903 Ribera warehouse by the station, the 1934 market by Burguera in daily use, and the Montortal palace (around 1780, reformed 1850), with 18th-century tiles.
Everything stands in the centre and is done on foot in a morning, with a market stop included.
