The Església de Sant Jaume was built in the late 17th century over an earlier temple documented in 1577. Inside it preserves paintings by Joaquim Oliet, an 18th-century Valencian painter. The church is the centre of the patronal festivities of Sant Jaume, held on 25 July. Building a new temple over an earlier one is common in the religious architecture of the area, where foundations and walls are reused. Oliet's paintings add artistic interest to the ensemble and connect it with Valencian production of the period. The church therefore supports a double reading, architectural and festive.
