L'Aixeta is a medieval cistern converted into an exhibition space and the ethnographic museum of Petrès. The name refers to the opening, or aixeta, through which the water deposit was reached. Today the old deposit hosts displays on the history and traditions of the municipality, so the exhibition function replaces that of storage. The building stands in the town centre, in carrer l'Aixeta, and is one of the points of interest in the town. The conversion preserves the structure of the cistern and puts it to use for public information.
