Platja de l'Ahuir

On a coast as built-up as the Valencian one, the Platja de l'Ahuir is almost an anomaly: a virgin beach with no buildings behind it and its dune system practically intact. It lies north of the urban promenade of Gandia.
Why it is different
Golden sand and clean water, under the highest level of protection and flying the Blue Flag since 2022. Behind the dunes, wooden walkways order the way onto the sand without harming the vegetation, which here is coastal flora adapted to salt and wind. There are no beach bars or paved promenade: that is precisely the appeal.

It is a nature-and-swim plan near València, very different from the urban beach of Gandia, a short way to the south.
