Torre de les Caletes (Torre del Cavall)
A 16th-century watchtower at the southern edge of Serra Gelada Natural Park, within Benidorm's municipal area. It formed part of the coastal defence system against pirate and Barbary raids, warning the population by lighting signal fires. Restored and declared a BIC, it is reached by a trail across Serra Gelada, with views of the cliffs and Benidorm Island.

Coastal defence
It belonged to the chain of towers that guarded the shore against pirate and Barbary raids. A relay of signal fires passed the alarm from tower to tower toward the interior. Restored and listed as a Cultural Heritage Asset (BIC), it keeps its ground plan and much of its wall.

You reach it by a trail crossing Serra Gelada, the cliffs on one side and Benidorm Island cut out against the sea. It is a half-day walk that mixes history and a fine lookout.
