Monestir d'Aigües Vives
Augustinian monastery in the Aguas Vivas valley, with origins in the thirteenth century. The present building began to rise in the sixteenth century and its cloister was built in 1597; the church keeps a single nave with side chapels. After the ecclesiastical confiscation it was abandoned and today operates as a hotel complex, with the cloister restored.
The monastery's earliest works date from the thirteenth century, although the present building began to rise in the sixteenth. Within that phase, the cloister was built in 1597, and the church keeps a single nave with side chapels. The community left the convent in 1835 because of the ecclesiastical confiscation, so the complex lost its religious use. Over time the complex has been restored as a hotel complex and today operates as accommodation, and its restored cloister remains part of the site; the two dates mark two distant building phases.
