Muntanyeta del Cabeçol
A small hillock northeast of El Puig towards Puçol, still within El Puig's municipal boundary, very easy to reach and offering wide panoramic views over the huerta, the coast and the Mediterranean. At the top stands a ceramic panel of the Mare de Déu al Peu de la Creu, patron saint of Puçol, and the remains of a bunker from the El Puig Civil War defensive line. On the last Sunday of August the pilgrimage of Puçol's parish climbs here, recalling the 1570 discovery of a relief of the Virgin.

What sits at the top
Two very different traces share the summit. One is a ceramic panel of the Mare de Déu al Peu de la Creu, patron saint of Puçol; the other, the remains of a bunker from El Puig's defensive line, one of the fortifications raised along this front during the Civil War. If that chapter interests you, the town also has the shelters and trenches from the same years.
A living tradition
On the last Sunday of August the pilgrimage of Puçol's parish climbs up here, recalling the 1570 discovery of a relief of the Virgin. It is an easy viewpoint for a low-effort day trip from Valencia.
