Salto de Chulilla
A striking narrowing of the Turia canyon, about 160 m deep and barely 10 m wide, the tightest point of the gorges. Beside it spring the sulphated calcium-magnesium thermal waters at 23 ºC that gave rise to Chulilla's historic spa, now closed; the Salto itself is a spectacular natural viewpoint over the river.
At the Salto de Chulilla the Turia canyon closes to barely 10 metres wide, with more than 150 metres of rock dropping to the water: it is the tightest point of all the gorges, inside the Los Calderones area of Chulilla.
The thermal water
Beside the narrows rise springs of sulphated calcium-magnesium water that emerge at around 23 ºC. On those waters stood Chulilla's historic spa, now closed, which for decades drew people after its mineral properties.
How to see it
The Salto itself works as a striking natural viewpoint over the boxed-in river. It falls within the route of the pantaneros trail, so you visit it on the same day as the Charco Azul, one of the best nature outings near València.
