Ruta de los Puentes Colgantes (senda de los Pantaneros)
Two hanging bridges with wooden decks and steel cables that cross the Turia canyon, descendants of the paths opened by the "pantaneros" during the building of the Loriguilla reservoir in the 1950s. The first spans 21 m at about 15 m above the river and the second 28 m at about 5 m high; they are the most spectacular stretch of Chulilla's most famous trail.
When the Loriguilla reservoir was built in the 1950s, the work gangs known as the "pantaneros" cut paths and slung walkways to move through the canyon. From that labour come the two hanging bridges of wooden deck and steel cable that are now the emblem of Chulilla.
The two bridges
The first spans 21 metres of empty air about 15 metres above the river; the second, longer one crosses 28 metres at barely 5 metres up, almost level with the water. Between them the trail clings to the limestone walls of Los Calderones, with the Turia always below.
The route
