Mirador del Tosalet del Doix

The lanes that climb up to the Mirador del Tosalet del Doix are part of the appeal in themselves: you reach it up steep slopes like Calle de la Hoz, crossing the Raval Morisc, the former Moorish quarter outside the walls of Oliva.

The view

From the top you look over the whitewashed maze of the old town, its limewashed houses stacked down the slope, and beyond it the coastal plain reaching out to the sea. It is the kind of viewpoint that rewards the climb: few places give such a clear sense of how Oliva is built, first the Christian town and, around it, the suburb of Moorish origin.

Planning a visit

It is the natural finish to a stroll through the most authentic Oliva, away from the beach. Wear comfortable shoes for the slopes and the cobbles. To link it with the rest of the walk, it is worth heading down afterwards towards the old town and the cluster of churches in the historic part.
