Central Bar by Ricard Camarena
The counter of Michelin-starred chef Ricard Camarena, set inside the Central Market and stocked with produce from the very stalls around it. Top-tier market sandwiches and tapas —the fried-chicken bun is a cult favourite— in a buzzing, laid-back setting.
💡 Local tip: It works in shifts and fills up: go before noon and sit at the bar to watch the action.
Central Bar is the informal counter of chef Ricard Camarena, who has two Michelin stars and a green star at his flagship restaurant in Bombas Gens. Here, inside the Mercat Central, he applies the same exacting standards to produce from the market's own stalls at bar prices.
The fried chicken sandwich is already cult, and the market tapas rotate depending on what's available that day. The atmosphere is counter-style, noisy and fast: you go to eat standing up or on high stools, not to spend the whole afternoon.
It fills up quickly: the most practical thing is to arrive before noon and sit at the counter to watch them cook.
